Concert for Melanie on the Hill - 18th June 2006

The Concert for Melanie on the Hill was a wonderful success and a great day.


The weather was perfect with 400 to 500 people turning up mainly from the Huon Valley.


Kim Sellers and Manhattan were brilliant and kicked of the day in style.

Bob Brown Melanie’s uncle and his group Sundown sang some Slim Dusty tribute songs as well as some good country rock. Great band and the crown really appreciated them.

Auction - For the Melanie Harris Memorial Trust

The auction raised about $7000 and most items attracted spirited bidding.


The Giant Hamsters capped of the day with some fantastic rock music that had over 150 people on the grass dancing and Jo Cornish, our MC for the day, and Moroosha Irvine helping out with the chorus to Mama Mia.


The concert met it’s financial objectives and raised over $15,000 for the trust.


Parliamentarians Lara Giddings MHA, Minister for Health and William Hodgman MHA, Leader of the Opposition were both in attendance.

Daniel and the children along with Melanie’s Mum & Dad, Carol and John Brown got up on stage and thanked the community for their support.

It was a great day.
